ROAD TRIP!!!!! New Mexico... and we survivied... barely!

Well, we did our first road trip in a LONG time... and it will be a VERY long time before we do another one! BUT I will report Great-Grandma is fabulous and she appreciated the company! Thank GOD for neighbors who let us borrow their DVD players!!! Of course the morning of our departure we couldn't find our cord for power! We wouldn't of made it out of Lafayette. Asa had a ball of course, as I am learning he has a ball in any situation you put him in! Shayden you might say is quite the opposite... BUT keeps us laughing! He is so funny! As you can see he LOVED DQ! Stopped at Sonic for dinner on the way down and all enjoyed Cherry Lime-aides. Nice to drive at night, reminded me of when we drove down as a child. The stars looked the same.

Arrived late, forgot to tell Bret about the 'pretend locks'. Being the safety man he is he locked the gate and the door not knowing neither of them worked. Locked our self in the house and the yard! Even the fire department wouldn't help! Thank goodness Grandma has good neighbors!~!

Hit our favorite spot El Pinto for some fabulous New Mexican food! Spent the day fixing what we broke. Took Grandma out for Birthday wine! She was so happy, she just kept saying we are going to savor our wine... and visit. So cute! Lunch with Aunt Margarite, she sends her love to all! Amazing as ever!!!

Had to pull the parachute cord in Walsenburg! Couldn't make it home! Nothin like the Best Western and KFC in Walsenburg, CO to finish the trip in style! Well, we did have a fabulous afternoon in Taos. It was a beautiful day and Asa got his face painted. Spiderman lives! It was so cool! Beautiful day!

Thanks mom for the big car! NO WAY we could have done without!!!

We love you all!!!!

End of Winter? Spring is in the COLORADO Air!

We have had some much needed sunshine lately! We are a whole new family thanks to Mr. Sunshine... Asa is SO HAPPY! He has made some amazing friendships and loves play dates. His Mountain Bike Camp is a huge highlight every week! He conquered riding over the teeter-totter and down the ramps! Shady loves to watch his big brother!
As for Shady, he is learning where his eyes, mouth and feet are. He uses his sign language very well, signing for milk, more, eat (which is his favorite activity) and poop. I can't bring myself to cut his hair... It is just so cute! But everyone thinks he is a girl! He sure is excited for his voice to form words. All he can do now is scream with all his might! He just thinks his big brother is the coolest.

We sure did laugh a lot today! giggle...giggle
